Arnold Schwarzenegger grew up in a small village
of Graz, Austria. His father encouraged him as a young
boy to be athletic and competitive. At 15 years old
he discovered weightlifting. By 20 was awarded the
World-recognized title of Mr. Universe and a dozen
other championships.
Arnold became a U.S. citizen in 1983 and still lives
in Los Angeles with his wife Maria Shriver (a Kennedy
family member) and their children, Katherine, Christina
and Patrick.
Arnold Schwarzenegger has produced body building
competitions including his Annual Arnold Schwarzenegger
Classic for many years.
Arnold served on the Presidents Council of Physical
Fitness and Sports for George Bush Senior.
He has written numerous health and fitness books.
More contributions from Arnold include California's
Governor's Council of Physical Fitness and as the
international weight trainer for the Special Olympics
since 1979.
His greatest effort to leverage from his vast and
tremendously successful film career has been to influence
the youth of California and America as a whole; to
promote health and fitness, and understand that it
is OK for kids to say 'no' to drugs.
